Last year we published the most creative resume designs of all time and to be honest they were all really wonderful, unusual and of course very creative. But you know graphic design inspiration and creativity has no limits so today we again publish a collection of resume designs(curriculum vitae-CV) which are fresh and all are from 2011.
Wow do those suck. ALL of them. If that “roel Cruz” (or is that Croel Cruz? I can’t even tell the guy’s name with certainty) was real software, I would send it in to my favorite website’s “GUI Nightmare of the Week” contest. Whenever I send in a GUI Nightmare candidate, I always win the weekly contest.
amazing response LOL !
I agree… I would just toss these in the trash if someone handed them to me. These look more like a high school photoshop project rather than professional resumes. Almost all of them are crammed with random, crappy graphics and bad typography. What happened to simple hierarchy structure and good use of white space?
NS, I couldn’t agree with you more! These are resumes for anyone who does not understand the fundamentals of true design. The typography is a mess and it is too much flash with out a lick of substance. If any of these crossed my desk it would go straight into the trash.
hey! you’re just an insecure cry baby!! And what the heck is “GUI Nightmare of the Week” and it’s your favorite website huh?! no wonder you have that attitude. somebody should teach you some matters.
Some cool resume ideas, but I think some of them might be going a bit overboard. Sometimes keeping things simple and minimal is a better option. 🙂
These are pretty bad. If I were to hand in a project like this to my professor he wouldn’t even grade it. It would be used to start a fire. Anyone know can throw some type down on some graphics and think it speaks visually.
Alot of these are too messy in my opinion but some of them ARE pretty clean. I’m looking over some other CV’s done by other fellow colleagues of mine and am still dabbling here and there of how I should design mine. However, I’m happy with my current bread and butter CV.

Wow!
Well these people should most definitely be hired 🙂
You mean *F*ired.
I just lost the respect to this site.
Oh the horror… 52 examples of what not to do…
Seriously? Fresh & Creative? Just looking at the majority of these resumes would make me not only want to toss their resumes directly into the shredder, it would cause me to call up their respective art schools and proceed to verbally abuse the administration for graduating them before these people were ready.
I’ll speak for the art directors and creative leads out there on this one…if you’d like to get hired, please have a working understanding of at least a FEW the following concepts: Readability vs. Legibility, Color, Contrast, Form, Layout and for gods sake TYPE. If you can’t learn anything in art school, at least learn how to manipulate type. It will serve you well for years to come.
My apologies on the outburst…I don’t generally comment on blogs but this was too outrageous to pass up. I’d go more in depth on this one but I’d chew through my desk in frustration if I did.
Guys not all of them are of guilt of overloading their CVs with design. In my opinion, 5 out of 52 are actually pretty neat.
Why be so angry?
How about constructive criticism instead of flaming the hell out of all the designs. Seriously!
To the author, thanks for including my work and for the appreciation. I never thought mine is really that inspiring.
To the guys who commented, I’m very humbled with you’re words and thankful to your professional criticisms/suggestions. It inspires me and maybe the others on the list, to do well next time. I appreciate it..:)
and if I may add, to all the artist included on the list your work are all truly amazing. keep it up! 🙂
To the guys that commented on our work so humbly specially to NS whoever you are.. I can tell, you all are professionals and that you know what you do.. the way you look at our works
Only a couple of them are decent. If I’m a employer almost all of these will get ditched. Resumes are suppose to be clear. I don’t want to be searching for information. Keep it clean but visually interesting.
I find many of your comments interesting and disagree with many of you. I believe several of these resumes show promise and whether or not I’d bring them in for an interview would really depend on the type or level of the position they would be applying for. Yes some of them are busy and hard to read, however I’d be lying if I said I’d just pass it up before taking a glance at it. Whether or not I’d toss it immediately following that again would depend on which resume of the 52 I’d be looking at as well as the position skill level. Frankly I think there are some interesting ideas here for new grads who don’t have a lot of material to put on a resume and need to find ways to stand out.
