About Law & Order

Premiering in 1990 and created by Dick Wolf, Law & Order is an American crime-drama television series set in New York City. The show divides each hour into two distinct halves: the first follows detectives investigating a crime, and the second shifts to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office prosecuting the case. Over its original two-decade run and through its revival, the series has featured major cast members such as Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston and S. Epatha Merkerson. Known for drawing inspiration from real-life criminal cases and presenting a no-nonsense take on justice, Law & Order remains a widely influential fixture in police and legal drama.
