Risaltyp Font

Risaltyp Font

Risaltyp is an ornate italic script designed by Polish type designer Grzegorz Luk — who operates under the gluk name and maintains an extensive back catalogue at glukfonts.pl — and released under the SIL Open Font License in 2014. Luk is a designer with a particular affinity for historical calligraphic forms, and Risaltyp reflects that: it draws on the tradition of copperplate and chancery italic scripts, where letters are formed with a pronounced forward lean, considerable stroke contrast between thick downstrokes and hairline upstrokes, and the kind of flowing, connected construction that gives formal italic scripts their characteristic sense of unbroken forward movement.
