The ChatGPT font used across OpenAI’s website and branding is the Söhne Font Collection, a premium commercial typeface known for its clean, contemporary, and highly readable design. Söhne delivers a modern neo-grotesk aesthetic that feels both minimal and sophisticated, perfectly aligning with the sleek, tech-driven identity of ChatGPT’s interface and user experience. Its balanced curves and precise geometry help create a professional yet approachable visual presence.
On the ChatGPT iOS app, however, the typography is different. The app uses SF Pro Display, Apple’s proprietary system font designed for clarity and legibility across iPhones and iPads. This typeface is licensed exclusively for Apple platforms or for creating app mockups intended for Apple devices, making it unavailable for general commercial use outside that ecosystem.
